YOU WILL BE THE WAVE, SLOWLY
performative installation in the frame of the exhibition 'FIVE time patterns' in Khalil Sakakini Cultural Center - Ramallah Palestine
One enters a room, three by four meters, with a vaulted stone ceiling. The ceramic tiles are covered with an even layer of desert sand (as it is called by construction workers in the West Bank). Someone is drawing, one letter at a time, a text with a stick, filling the whole surface of the floor with words.
You will be the wave, slowly in an ephemeral site-specific installation involving live performance. The spectators entering the exhibition have to cross the piece in order to pursue their visit. As they move in the space, their footprints blur the words and the content of the text tends to disappear.
